Feeding Cows in Sweden

(Rickard feeding the most adorable little moo cow)
(Me feeding the same cow)
This was one of my most favorite moments in Sweden. Rickard and I had spent the whole day in Oslo, Norway and were driving back to Smogen, Sweden. On the way, we just kept seeing this beautiful nature all around us and Rickard asked me if I wanted to stop and take pictures at any point. After a whole day running around in Oslo, I was just fine with taking in all the nature beauty from the car, but then we saw this spot (and cows!!) just a half hour away from Smogen, I knew we had to stop. I am really glad we did!

I will tell you one thing - you do not find these kinds of moments in California. There was no one around and we just walked down a little hill to get to this spot off the road.

Originally the cows were several meters away from us, near to the lake. How cute are they looking at us from the lake? :)

We started to call the cows over to us and to our surprise, they responded!

This one got really close to us and even let Rickard pet her!

Thank you moo cow for this wonderful memory of Sweden.

I can't get enough of the nature. When I originally saw this view, I knew we had to stop.

Swedish Weekend

(HallontÃ¥rta (raspberry cake) from Jonssons Konditori in Kungsbacka)

I've been in Sweden since Friday and I feel more relaxed and stress-free than I have ever felt before. Maybe it's because I am on my first vacation in two and a half years, or maybe it's the long drawn out summer days (sun is up till nearly 10pm here!), or just the beautiful green nature and blue lakes -- but whatever it is, I am sure glad I came here!

In the last couple days, we have visited my husband's grandma and went out for some delicious raspberry cake with her near the ocean. We also had a little party with friends and played the Swedish game called Kubb .

I am awake a bit early for Swedish time right now since I am still a little jet-lagged. When my husband wakes up, he is taking me to a spa in Gothenburg as a little birthday present. I really have the best husband.

(Fresh picked strawberries from the garden)

I am so very thankful for all of this. <3

Another DIY Project - Custom Prints for the Home

(My DIY project hanging on my wall)

I have been loving these geography + hearts prints I've been seeing pop up all over Etsy. Some of these go upward of $50 and I didn't want to spend that much on just one piece of paper, so I had myself a little DIY project. I framed and made these two prints by myself. I am quite happy with how it turned out. Better yet, it only cost me under $17 for both prints AND both frames!

Here is how I did it:
* Photoshop --  I took a random map I found on Google Images and edited to make it look how I wanted. I added my dotted hearts line from LA to Sweden.
* Clip Art -- I was able to find the bicycle image online, and re-colored it.
* http://dafont.com - For free font downloads!
* Michaels - I was able to find two white frames at Michaels for just $7 each. I also scored two nice scrapbook textured paper for just $.59.
* Staples - $.85 for an excellent print job on both images!

Under $17 total! And I am really happy with how it turned out. Since I made it myself, the prints have more meaning and are more personal to me.

They hang beautifully in my dining area now. :)
